Default VB.org mods with attitude problem or power hungry

I haven't had time to make a thread about this situation because of my busy schedule.

A week or so ago, I made a reply on a thread someone asked how many people own a Hiphop forum. The reason why I even decided to reply to it is because of all the negative comments about Hiphop websites and me being a Hiphop website owner, I was offended especially with some of the negative comments posted by users to help belittle a culture just because some few kids they think are using illegal vbulletin or so call using their design. I decided to reply to mist ( Dean C) negative comments and call him a hypocrit because he use to be on numerous hiphop boards daily and also as moderator no matter if he had any knowledge of the forum being run using some type of illegal copy or not and I told him whats the purpose of him being involved in a negative discussion towards hiphop site when he use to be on it daily and do the same thing they do and he's also currently a admin on one of them. Only an idiot will act this way.. especially changing your personality just because you are mingling with different type of people .

I checked the thread the next day and filburt1 replied to it telling me how I am lucky he's having a good day and how the weather is good or he would have banned me for saying that and also how he wish he know my home address.

Now tell me this , was all that necessary? I mean whats the purpose of using this forum or even paying for it if I can't have a word on a conversation being held on their official community for customers? This is also funny, if someone would have created a similar thread about rock music that user might get banned but when a Hiphop thread was created with nothign but negative statement towards hiphop culture, No one object or even decided to close the thread, moderators decided to leave it alone and even reply to it with negative comments and as soon as I reply to it to defend and comment on some of the replies, that is when someone decided to close it .

I am not surprised for seeing comments like these on vb.com

It's also very sad what has happened to vB.org, it has turned into an "official" forum run by a bunch of arrogant kids (Whether their age is higher then 20 or not.) Not only that but your questions are almost never answered and usually moved to a forum that isn't visited.

It just doesn't look very professional when Jelsoft supports activity like that. IMO Jelsoft is going down hill.

Yes there are some mods at vb.org and vbtemplates that have attitude problems. Lets hope it doesn't filter over to here.

I would actually agree with influence to an extent. Some changes in the way customers are treated are required to be made at vB.org (an official website representing the reputation Jelsoft has taken years to develop).

Arkham, he is voicing his opinions, I am not sure if you are being sarcastic, funny, or what, but from my view that post is just childish.

With the additions of the new moderators (ranging back to few months ago) I have seen an increase in moderators, decrease in actual level of support offered. I have not been at vB.org to monitor how it has been lately, but before I left this is what I encountered.

Ok the reason that thread was closed was due to it's degeneration into bickering. Let me take a quote from you from that thread before it was closed:

Mist or dean C . whatever you call yourself these days, you are an idiot
If you have problems with the reasons why that thread was closed or any individual members of staff, feel free to contact the administration or ourselves individually.

first of all based on influences post in the original thread, i felt you went over the top, but so did filburt and the thread shouldn't have been closed, too many threads around here get closed

also yep i'd agree with that (Drk's post) basically this site seems to be ++++ed, for lack of a better words, the mods aren't driving content as i feel they should in this sort of site, and as skillful a coder as filburt is, i don't feel he should be the chit chat mod, as he hardly ever posts with members but rather tends to be the end of conversations.

the community spirit in this site is at an all time low and it sucks, i used to love coming here, back when everyone was hacking vb2 and making stuff better but the site has died for several reasons, also not anyones fault but i felt that some bad decisions have been made, like the whole style contest thing, that should've been wrapped up so that the unveiling was monday, i mean we all knew there was a week to go so why was there no update.

also not a snipe at brad.loo but i don't think that being the head of a sister site gives you grounds for power, i don't see what he brings to the team, and that some of the more active (hackers and chatters) would've been better suited.

don't get me wrong, i don't know what filburt does behind the scenes in order to have such a high regard in view of the admins in the face of the low regard so many members have for him, i didn't comment on that in my above post, i was just saying i don't think he's very chit chat/lounge friendly.

what a mature reply for a 34 years old.

anyway, I will make a thread about this also on vb.com.

whats so funny is that filburt1 stays in maryland with me. I decided to give him my home address with my home phone # incase he get lost since he's so eager to know my home address. Because I am very interested in knowing what he plan on doing or perhaps deal with the situation face to face. I will really love that. I am 24 years old and there is no need for you to talk to me like a child just because of your status on some internet forum. Not to mention, I have been on vb.org longer than him.

I think Drk and sabret00the both pretty well summed up what has been and still is going on at vb.org. And I think Chris pretty well summed it up, too.

The sad thing is, if things don't somehow get better or change soon, I'm afraid there won't be many coders from the old school here anymore. Most of us have moved on and the rest will follow eventually.

can we make sure this stays a moderated/adult discussion on vbulletin.org and not a bash-fest please, please everyone refrain from making this personal.
