Upgrade not succeeded
I tried sometime ago to upgrade my version 2.2.9 to 2.3.2. The forum upgrade was succesful, however some hacks didn't work, especially vbHomelite.
So I restored all my old files. But not the proper way, I just put the old files back. Now I understand that I didn't 'restore' the database, but only the files. My admin panel says that I'm running 2.3.2, but I don't think so. Since then I have problems when people try to join. This is what I get: Database error in vBulletin 2.3.2: Invalid SQL: INSERT INTO useractivation VALUES (NULL,'63','1076966661','93863965',0) mysql error: Column count doesn't match value count at row 1 mysql error number: 1136 Anyway, I want to upgrade to 2.3.4 now. I don't want to annoy my new members :surprised: QUESTIONS Wat would be the best steps for me to do? Do I consider my current version as 2.2.9 and can I upgrade from there? Do I have to make some modifications in the database as well ? Hope somebody can help me with this one ! |

Your current Version is 2.3.2 - database-wise.
I am not sure if 2.2.9-files are compatible with 2.3.2 database-structure, and I doubt a downgrade is possible. I would suggest: Upload unmodified 2.3.2 files, then upgrade to 2.3.4 and check if everything works ok. Then re-apply all the hacks you installed (with software like Beyond Compare this isn't too difficult nor time-consuming). |

Thanks Kirby,
Is a clean install also an option? That is: install 2.3.4 and restore databasefields with messages and users? Although I have no idea what fields they are in. Or do I not know what I'm asking here |
