Adsense in Archive?
How would one go about adding Google Adsense in the archive? I tried to do it myself by editing an echo line in index.php in /archive, but alas, I was unsuccessful. Thanks!

It works indeed. Here's what I did.
In archive/index.php, find: Code:
</head><body> Demo: http://www.emutalk.net/archive/index.php/f-44 |

here a short question, if spiders are basically the only ones that use the archive, then why would one Adsense in it?
Or is it so You would see it when clicking link from google or another search engine? Sorry if the question seems dumb. |

I read that someone's click through rate was higher on the archive section.
I set up channels to monitor my click throughs. I have had 0 clicks in the archives. Most of my clicks are on my vBadvanced portal page, then comes the forum. So your mileage may vary. I have my google ads in the footer for what it is worth. I don't think Google's search engine has anything to do with it. It is not that you are looking to attract people to your archive. You would like people to click on the ads. |

Martin64, how did you get the adsence in the archive section like your website? I could only get it on the very top part of the page.
Thanks |

It will show up if you put it just below this code:
HTML Code:
</head> <body> <div class="pagebody"> |

Does anyone know how I could make it appear as a side bar on the left or right side? Someone explained it at TheAdminZone, but it doesn't work in 3.0.7. If anyone has any ideas... please let me know.

I did the above mod and the google ads are appearing except that guests cannot view the archives (and yes, I have allowed guests access to the regular forum so they should also be able to access the archive) Whenever a guest tries to view the archive they get this error:
