Hi everyone,
I am trying to set my vBulletin up to automatically e-mail all new users with a custom welcome message. This is to increase participation from new members and make them feel welcomed and wanted. Now, I have created two new templates: welcomeemail and welcomeemailtitle, I believe, with the messages and title - but where do I go from there? Someone I know was helping me and he was telling me to change the member.php (for .php3 in my case) - what do I change/add? I'm relatively new to the software and am by no means a PHP expert, so I'm hoping this isn't complicated. Can anyone help? Show Your Support

Since this is not supported by default by vBulletin, you will probably be better off in the Code Hacking forum. I'll move this post there now.

In Member.php3 look for:
Code:
} else {
eval("echo standardredirect(\$bbtitle,\"".gettemplate("redirect_registerthanks")."\",\"index.php\");");
}
Code:
} else {
// Send Welcome Message - Wayne Luke
eval("\$message = \"".gettemplate("welcomeemail")."\";");
eval("\$subject = \"".gettemplate("welcomeemailsubject")."\";");
mail("\"$username\" <$email>",$subject,$message,"From: \"$bbtitle User Manager\" <$webmasteremail>");
//end welcome message
eval("echo standardredirect(\$bbtitle,\"".gettemplate("redirect_registerthanks")."\",\"index.php\");");
}
