for each?

ok, i wanna call something from the database, a set of recods, but where i wanna call em i wanna add the option to have options, would i just go?

PHP Code:

for each (SELECT record FROM table WHERE clause = condition) {
echo "$row_start_html $option_1 $option 2 $option 3 $row_end_html";
}

this is like my first venture into the admin cp, so i'm a little lost.
