I just posted this on vb.com to yet anotherrrrrrr vb3 thread.
Just wanted your opinions on whether you think i have a point or not  (sorry if this is classed as free posting or something) I posted --- **YAWN** We all have vB2, we all have previews of vB3, Deal with it Fair enough everyones getting irrate over the fact we have been waiting for so long, but put yourselfs in the developments shoes. They must be working their asses off to make sure everythings up to scratch, What if they released vB3 now and something went wrong on your forum, or you found some bug? You would be straight here moaning at them for it. Perfection takes time its that simple. I'm happy to wait for longer if i know that i will end up with a more stable version, and of course you see the odd post saying something like "I payed for my service so i expect the new vb soon instead of waiting". True we all have paid for this service, but when you brought the board, was you told that there would be updates? Nope. You paid to get the board that was out at the time and that is what you have recieved. The Dev team are hard at work making a better board for US, we should be gratefull whether or not we are paying. Think of it this way, you could be stuck with phpBB  Im much more happier with my vB2 as it does what i need it to do, so blah thats my 15000 cents

im afraid while everyones waiting with baited breath vbull org is dying cause of the lack of hacks.Lets not forget this is basically a hack board and there is hacks for vb3 out at moment.But the powers that be wont have no mention of it and wont allow any hacks to be posted here.
Now they say this is because the final version of vbull will be different but with the time it has taken em to release it at least people could of had a good mess getting to grips with it and learning but i meself feel vbull has stunted the growth of it by their policy of zero hacks.

I see your point. But people can still mess around with vB3, just cant go to vB.org to download any mods, although there are other sites people can go too.
In a sense you have to see the vB.org admins point of view. If they allow vB3 hacks here then alot of people are going to be installing them, and then the next vB3 release comes out and it would cause all sort of problems with code changes etc, so in a sense it just isnt worth the hassle. Saying that RC should be out near the end of the month

but in the same stroke, i'm highly critical, the delay has really effected .orgs userbase, threads don't get the same attention, hacks are not coming out as much and to make it worse those that do wanna release hacks aint allowed to as .com requested they didn't (i can understand saying when gamma comes out no gamma hacks, altho as they said RC should be days behind they shouldn't even do that, but i can't say not letting no vb3 hacks here whatsoever has been a good move, especially on what is essentially a hacked vb3 board, their should be atleast a sub-forum or allowing users to post vb3 hacks if they release a vb2 version) .org has just got the raw end of this deal all round, i mean amy mods GHD and since she's working on vb3 can't come around much and when she does can't offer much support as she's no longer familiar with the code. .org has really been suffering because of this.

You got a good point there mate. vB.org does seem pretty dead recently, i think on the whole people are fed up of waiting for vB3, and therefor fed up with vBulletin.
I've just made a new board, but keep thinking to myself as soon as i open it, they will end up releasing vb3 and then loads of brilliant hacks will come out with it. Maybe the subforum on here for hacks would be a good idea, but in the end its the admin's decision, and i think their sticking with what vb.com tell them.

yep it must of beena tough decision not to allow any hacks for vb3 but was it worth it in the end.
Poeple could of had time to mess with new hacks and get to know how the new vb was different to vb2 and a disclaimer could of been put on the board stating that these hacks will not work on the final version.
