templates groups, where are they kept?
Developer Last Online: Oct 2012
I am adding a template and want to display it in the appropriate group, but i can't figure out where to do that. The template table only has columns templateid templatesetid title template
I went over some hacks that add groups but I couldnt find anything there either. Can anyone clear that up? Thanks Show Your Support

In admin/template.php Look for $only['showthread'] (or $only[showthread]) for example and you'll see all the groups listed.

how do those groups know which templates belong to them? I have the vbArticles group, and made a new template myself, called vbArticles_articleview2
should it automatically put it in the group or do i need to update something somewhere? Right now it lists it under custom templates, so i must be overlooking something thanks |

IIRC if you enable debug mode you can add templates on the master style, making sure the new templates to be listed in the group begin with that name.

Isnt' everything that's not in the php files automatically in the database? There has to be something in there, right? It's gotta be tagged in one way or another...

Note these only affect Standard Templates and not custom added ones. IIRC TWT Commish did a hack to allow grouping custom templates. |

Thanks lee, I'll install that one and take it from there. It should clean up my templates a lot, sweet
and, as a quick note, since I just found the answer. It doesnt list it by group unless the templatesetid = -1. Mine was 1 since it was a custom template. |

You can find out what the custom templateid is and then just update the templatesetid to -1.
ie. if the templateid is 459 PHP Code:
Hope that helps. Regards, g-force2k2 |

Note that moving your custom templates into the master set will mean they will be deleted upon upgrading unless you customise them after moving them.
