vBulletin question, please help · **Released**: 11-06-2003

I posted this on vBulletin.com but they said this is a better place, yet I did not know which forum to ask this question in, so here goes.

I had a member that asked that I delete his account (he had some 1,000+ posts)

Then he reregisters, and because he had deleted his account his post count is back at zero, but now he has probably 200 or so posts.

Can someone give the the steps necessary to reassociate these users. So that all his posts are reassociated with his username?

Hope I am not asking for too much, but I do appreciate it.

You can edit the user via the Admin CP to give him more posts. However, this will only give him a higher post count, it will not revive his deleted posts

Yeah, I know I can do that, but I would like to reassociate him with his old posts.

If you only deleted his account and not his post its then yeah its easy. A few ways to do it. 1 way is to use the merge USER hacc that's available here with a license. It will give him his post count and credit his psot to hit after you update the counters.

There's alot of ways to do this. II've had to do it too many times when members returned.

If you've pruned his posts then theres no way of getting them back.

I did not prune his old post. I found the merge user hack but requires me to know his old user ID

What do I do. How do I find is old user ID?

Bump, I am also now running vb3 RC4

Please help, I would like to get this guys post count back without manually just adding the number to his post count.

I want to reassociate this user with his old posts, which are still on the forum.

Anyone?
