I have just started up a New MobilePhone forum (Mobiphobia) , now we have been running for afew days now, how can i get it to a popular well known forum, what sites are the best for advertising, we are in 3 Gsm Topsites, 22nd out of 100 in one already been in it for 3 days LOL , any help or info will be helpful to me
When I started my R/C forum, there were at least 3 different large forums dedicated to the same topic, even with 10,000+ users. Meanwhile, nobody had heard of me or of my site.
Now, a little over two years later, guess who leads the pack?
Just as in anything, hard work and dedication pays off. Not saying anything is a lock -- luck has a lot to do with it -- but there is always room for one more.

Just because there is other large-scale forums with the same concept, it doesn't mean that you can't succeed.
You just need to work alot harder to recruit new members. Make them see your forum before these large-scale ones.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but there are already a ton of mobile forums out there, and a few huge ones, that i can't think of the names.

I don't think there are a lot of good mobile forums around (at least I can't easily find them) considering the market size, future potential and advertisement possibilities of mobile phone business. As a matter of fact even I registered a few domain names related to this subject seeing the potential here even though I have no business with mobile phones lol.. Who knows what happens in the future..

Very true. My board got 2 huge boosts when larger, competing boards shut down and referred their members to my site.
I would suggest that you allow people to view the board without registering. I would never register on a board without first seeing what it has to offer.
When I started my private forums over 2 years ago, there were at least 2 or 3 other large ones. Now I run the largest one for my topic. So it can be done. Try to optimize your site so it ranks high on Google. I've never had to use Google ads.
