have any of your users reported this? a few of mine have and i can't find it, funny thing is, i only really get something similar on here and a few other sites so can't try and recreate it to try and fix it

I've heard of it happen because of the javascript popup because of read receipts.... most likely using older browsers

got a couple users on 1meg connections, xp and ie6 and they're browsers are freezing
