if a hack author updates his thread, do we still get emails?

yeah but subscription gives you every posts and i only really want the main ones that tell you stuff like 1.5 is out with security fixes and what not, old vb2 style

So it is there, I'm sure it wasn't a couple of weeks ago when I looked for it *heh*
In my experience it never worked very well and allways timed out on vB2.

It did timed out by me as well, that's the reason why not all the users received the email, like with 'sabret00the'.
Xenon, i think it's better to cut it off. Select 50 people and email them, then a 'next' link with the next 50 people etc etc.
