Coppermite dev has vb integration and it work with vbulletin 3 to
less feature than photopost but it's free

If you use vb 3 use conditional and template and you have a perfect gallery

Why would someone be against photopost? I could understand not wanting to pay the money for it but its a very nice system. No reason to actually hate it. Hmm.
