Hello Teck, Xenon, Everyone,

I dont mean to be a bother, but, I just bought and downloaded the vBulletin software a few days ago, I had a little trouble, but luckily figured it out, You can look at my history and see it. It had to do with a goof on my part, anyway.

The reason I am writing is I need some help, and or comments.

See, I want a portal system, I heard vBulletin with vbhome, works quite well, Great, sence I want something that will integrate.

I downloaded the Version 3.0.0 beta 6, and vbhome, only to find out, the vbhome is for 2.3 or below.

Even though it is working here on vBulletin.org.
I read, they will not give us the hack/program for 3.0 until the full release of 3.0 is posted, to make sure there are no bugs, which I can understand, even though it is frustrating.

So, I downloaded version 2.3.2 and installed it.

The install went smoothly, and I uploaded a theme I like, Yeah!! I'm working

I went through the instructions for vbhome line by line 3 for 4 times, and Danged if I can not get it working for the life of me.
I even went as far once as to delete the install and re-install it, but had this style I like so much, actually overwrite the default installed style, same problem.
I have also forced single style use, and user can not change style, even though there were no more, I got rid of the option in the usercp.

You can see the results on my website http://www.tomshawk.com/index.php

So, I have a question or 3

1) with the vbulletin 2.3.2, What am I doing wrong? Why cant I get it working?

2) Can I get some help on it for vBulletin 3.0, I'm willing to pay $$$ for it.

and

3) Will there be upgrade scripts to upgrade from 2.3 to 3.0 RC1 and 3.0 Beta's for RC1.

And help would be greatly appriciated.

BTW!! If I get takers on the help for money deal, I pay after it is working

1- For vbhome problems, please post it in the vbhome hack thread and hopefully hack author or another hack user will be helping you.

2- If you are offering money for a service request of yours, please post it in the Service Request Forum.

3- The exact answer to this question can be given by vbulletin.com only. But I believe that yes it is likely Jelsoft will provide a VB2.3.x -> VB 3.0 RC1 upgrade script.

1. as Logician already said, the vbhome thread is the best site to get help.

As for our vb3 portal Faranth told already, it's not vb home, it has been written by FireFly for vb2 and ported over to vb3 by myself. It's exclusive for vb.org

vbHome can be ported to VB3 easily, IMO.
I will not do this because I'm releasing a much more powerful version, as retail.
However, if someone want to release an update, they can do it as long as it's part of the original VB2 thread, with the copyright intact.
As you know, I retain all copyrights for the code, name etc., even if it's derivated to the new VB3 code.

Regards,
Floren Munteanu.
