Are there a hack that allows visitors to type in their e-mail to receive future updates and what not?

Or is this feature already part of version 2.3.2 that I am not aware of??

Well, users can use the Allow Bulletin Board Administrators and Moderators To Send You Email Notices? option for something like this.

A mailing list type of modification can be found outside of vBulletin, it doesn't require vBulletin to work.
You should be able to find something you like at a site such as www.hotscripts.com
