Way to confirm users personel info?

im creating a site that people buy and sell stuff. i already know about the hack that adds feedback option to user profiles. it would be nice if there was a way for people to have their addresses stored and so if there was a problem in a transaction, the user could contact the admin and get the other users info. that part is easy, but i worry about people putting in phony info, any ideas on a way to curb this?

There's no way at all that you can curb this unfortunately. If you wanted to it would involved heavy hacking on perhaps something like the zip code to see if the area code matched the town or something. Or maybe the telephone number matched the area code for the town. It's a lot of work though

You could always send mail with confirmation numbers or something if you're willing to pay the outrageous thirty-seven cents per stamp!

thirty-seven cents at a possible 10,000 users on the board if it's that big would suck ass!

Then all the internation people plus putting all the address and envlopse . . .
