What does it say for vBulletin when a mod of their templates site runs a different kind of forum software

I was on vBulletinTemplates, usually i make it a rule never to go there, but i could not be bothered to make up the edit....

Anyway, There was a template edit by Brad.loo/Anim? Loo.... it said for demo see kotetsu... so i clicked http://www.kousetsu.net/ and guess what...

vB is not perfect for every application. No one piece of software works perfectly for a given situation. I'm sure he has his own reasons.

Aye. Agreed. I just think its a bit............ patronising to Jelsoft.

If he promotes an application and uses another.

Its like when the Coke star's go out and drink Pepsi, or Nike star's go and wear Addidas

SaintDog made him a moderator because he felt that he was helpful in assisting others with the vB template system. I can see your views but as he's still helpful in that respect, I really don't see his use of other software as negative. It's his preference.

Why does it matter that he is not using vBulletin. As long as he does a good job at moderating which i'm sure he does then there is no problem

I mean look at Mist, just because his username is profane in another language, as long as it's ok in the language used here, he's ok as a Mod . Now if were to have a German vb.org, hmm

Maybe the dude has more than one website, that have forum-software on them, but he only has one vB license? I know that's going to be the case for me if I decide to start up another website soon, for I don't have the money to purchase two vB licenses.

Who cares in the first place though, being a mod has nothing to do with what forum software you run on your website. >.>

myBB caught my eye until I played with the source code, if it cleans up I might do something with it soon, for now I leave it there for anyone that used to post on the old vB.

My vB is going to be used on anthor site currently under development (synergy-core.net), I dident see the point in buying anthor one to run on a site I dont use much anyway.

The last thing I will ever do is tie myself down to one software, be it a board or OS. Ive used ubb, phpbb, and probbly everything else out there at one point or anthor. ATM I belive vBulletin is the best, but if something every came out that suited the project I was using best, I would use it in a heart beat.

mybb looks alot like vbulletin with out the community or expirence of vb, their layout looks alot like vb2.x

as alot of the others here have said, vB is probally the best, but its not free and buying alot of licenses are expensive
