Do you have any favorite websites to discuss handling message boards? I'm not thinking of the tech part since we have vb.com and vb.org for that...
I'm talking about personnel issues, TOS ideas, subscriptions, usergroups, selecting mods, handling paid staff for mods, etc. The reason I'm asking is that I visit several webmaster sites and I find the things that I'd like to discuss regarding "staff", the webmaster sites doesn't have discussions surrounding. I must be looking in the wrong place. And quite frankly discussing such things on VB's forums in public has many drawbacks. Many of the members aren't in the same place. I guess they don't understand having 30+ mods on a large board. Is there such a place for message boards admins of large sites to discuss some of the concerns of running a big board? |

Well, I always used to use BBAdmins but they are currently offline.
Other than that, I post at vBulletin.com in chit-chat. |

I've never had or seen problems with consulting such issues at a place like vbulletin.org. I honestly think this is the best place for it, that or vBulletin.com.. but, whatever.
Another great forum is Sitepoint, which I'm currently adoring since there is so much useful knowledge spread throughout the forum, coming from very brilliant coders. There is the "Building communities" forum at Sitepoint you may want to look into, if you haven't already: http://www.sitepointforums.com/forum...php?forumid=71 If this doesn't suit your needs still.. and you can't find it through google, perhaps you ought to create such a forum yourself. |
