o2 Hosting Solutions Limited has now ceased trading.

Two of my sites went down today. I tryed to email the host
but recive a invalid email message.

I payed this compant money for 2 sites and a 2yrs lease
on 2 domian names and I cant get any thing from them.

I submitted a support ticket hours ago.

This is the message in the control panel.

The last one is from 17/06/2003 and there support
forum is closed due to "people posting on there trying to tout business" I cant even read anything I only have this system message.

I am really ++++ed, I dont know whats going on.

- we have taken the forums offline as there are a number of very silly people posting on there trying to tout business.

This is the only way we can stop this for the moment and once it dies down we will allow access again to the forums.

Should be in about an hour.

They received a court order to shut down by o2 communications. Word on the hosting planet list is they are just going to BBQ with Chapter 11 which would legally allow them not to refund anyone that advanced paid the one to three years of service a lot of folks did. If anyone needs hosting that was with these folks, but can't afford to pay for hosting again yet. feel free to contact me to make arragements for other options we can work out.

their is not much you can do legally Dream, you don't own the domain, you leased it from Tucows whom leases it from iCann. iCann owns every domain on the net and leaases them to registars who in turn lease them to the registarant.

thats out of order not fair...i want to own it i thought of it it was my idea...n now they can sell it on to some other muppet ?

i was sposed to have that till 2005 n if some one else buys it they getting money 2 fold on it...

the whole things ridiculous o2 mobile only recently changed their name anyway from bt cellnet n who they gonna sue next the world wide water boards for using the chemical symbol ?

i feel like reverting back to orange network :angry:

No, iCann can not put your domain back up for lease until it expires in 2005. If your e-mail address appears in any of the three, billing, support or admin fields of the whois, your reg can help you and remail you the user/pass. Also if you look on your credit card statement, when the domain was bought, does the charge appear as o2 or the reg company? If it is the latter of the two you can get your account info reset by calling and giving your credit card's last 6 digits. Lastly there is snail mail. If your info is correct in the admin whois fields, you can fill out a domain transfer request with another registar like godaddy.com, pay the $7.95, this puts your domain now due at 2006, then make a copy of your drivers lisc., print the transfer forms and fill them out, have them noterized and them fax or snail to godaddy. Once they receive it they will process it with iCann and move the domain to them. This is a long about way and takes 7-21 business days once they receive your letter or fax.

If o2 registered everything in there name... all you can do is register a new domain, maybe dispute the charge with your bank and cut your losses...

The two vb boards that I and my g/f had are now all merged in to one at a old site www.eugenekelly.com which is up in september.

So I will be looking for a new host then.
