bit of a silly question but will that display the posts too? i was just about to put the code into the page (well i did but i got an error and thought i better ask before slaving trying to find out why it's erroring but still as i'm running outta breath lol) will that display the entire thread including posts on a non-vB page kinda like how the archive dispays em! :nervous:

It doesn't; only way I know if is to run that query to get the threadid, and then:
[sql] SELECT pagetext, userid, username FROM post WHERE threadid = threadid ORDER BY dateline [/sql] Or, if you're running MySQL 4.1 which IIRC supports subselects: [sql] SELECT pagetext, userid, username FROM post WHERE threadid = (SELECT title, threadid FROM thread WHERE forumid = forumid ORDER BY dateline DESC LIMIT 1) ORDET BY dateline[/sql] |
