Why did this happen.. · **Released**: 06-03-2003

At my forum, when u go to New Thread, Reply to Post, or anything having to do with posting, after u press post, it goes to a database error. I have recently installed some hacks, but what is this cause of this? The post shows up in the forum, but when u press post it brings u to database error and not return u to the site, you must go back manually. Help appreciated, thx.

What error? Please post it.

Chances are you messed up something (maybe very small) while installing your hacks.

One missing or out of place "}" will kill your page...

I don't think there is an error. Just a database error. I think this because some (and only some...pretty few actually) members get this very error (nothing to tell me what to fix) when they click the usercp link. Odd thing is only a few members complain.

Anyone know why? And it seemed to be after installing the Signature Preview hack...

Yes, remove it...but I want to know why only some get it. :ermm:

Your searchindex table is corrupted. Upload repair.php (it's in the 'extras' folder of the zip file) to your admin directory. Close your forums, then run it from your browser with this syntax:

http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/admin/repair.php?html=1&check=1

[Of course change the exact URL as appropriate for your forums.]

If everything reports 'Ok' then reopen your forums. If not, then run it again. The second time everything should report Ok (except the session table which you can ignore.) See if this fixes the problem.

Also you can run this query in phpMyAdmin:

REPAIR TABLE searchindex;
