Forum Home Layout
Hi,
Firstly, apologies in advance for asking for this (again). This is the second time, but the last time was some months ago and I appreciate that membership increases so hopefully somebody with a better skill set them myself can do this. What I am looking to have is the forum layout shown as the attached image here. I know that there is a hack by Xenon here, however it is unsupported and does not quite do what I need as not all the information is used from the forum columns. If any help can be given on this, I'll be extremely grateful. Thanks. |

d00d why would you want your forums so long across the screen that means you need a very big monitor lol

I agree with the idea of wolfe's post (not the grammar, though )...it will completely screw up your site on 800x600 which is the resolution in which every site should be usuable.

That screen shot was taken on a 1280x1024 that is why it looks long.
The titles of each sub forum are actually very short so this should be very viewable still at 800x600 and I'd still like to give this ago. As there is no hack available can somebody at least point me towards excatly what I need to edit so I can try and do this myself. Thanks. |

I believe Xenon has some "forumhome categories" hack...
Perhaps you could install that then modify the templates Satan |

I have 23" monitor so can take some lots screenshots as well. I find I have to constrain my browser window offen to see how it could look. I've been playing with the forum home, display home and post & no post forums a lot lately...
a good program to get while messing with this stuff is called, 1st Page 2000 & Ultraedit 10a+... 1st page 2000 is freeware, and I find it's awesome for previewing templates and making quick hack changes to templates. It has the old school html edit, with a tab to preview code, works great with php templates. I run my monitor at 1600x1200 so find that this is very useful I hope it works for you as well... you can find it here, http://evrsoft.com/ let me know how you make out |
