Odd Request...
I have a board that has mostly newbies... (It is a junkyard board)... anyway they post for parts that they are looking for and several have requested that in the Parts Request forum the "new Thread" button be changed to "new part request"
OK... I have made the button with Vbutton Pro, but I only want it to be changed in that particular forum. I know I could just replace the newthread.gif but it would then show in all forums... Any ideas??? |

Use Logician's Conditional Templates hack.

Unless I don't understand that hack correctly I don't think that it will do what I want to do.
As far as I can tell I could edit say the post bit template with that hack so that a certain user, or user group would see certain things... the only problem with that is it would still show up on all of the forums. For example I want a different button for just one forum and not the rest. The forum is named "Parts Request" so i want the button to read "New Parts Request" in that forum, and in another forum, lets say "General Chat" I want the button to be "New Topic". Thanks and let me know if I don't understand the hack you suggested properly, which is probably the case!!! LOL |
