We have a decent sized board(usually over 50 members online) and we are now needing a new host. We're currently on Ventures Online(on a ded. server) and have had 91 memory outages last month and because of funding, we can't really upgrade. We are seriously considering a similarly priced package with RackShack. I realize that one of the main differences is managed verses unmanaged. What are the advantages/disadvantages to making such a switch? Any info you guys can share that will help us that will help us out?

We've already moved once before, so that isn't a biggie. |

I've used both and prefer cpanel, but it doesn't really matter since I do most stuff via SSH. |

My experience is that the PLESK boxes are MUCH less resource intense and memory hungry than ENSIM boxes - especially for running forums. Have a look at your server loads...

I have a Ventures account and I also have one on Eniki. I have pretty much all I need on Eniki. I am thinking of taking my other site over to Eniki. I have not had a problem with them in the month I have been with them so far. I have the same control panel that I have on Ventires and more. I pay $25 a month on Ventire and $5 a month on Eniki. Here are the $5 plan options

300MB/Webspace 3GB/Bandwidth Fast Linux Servers Site Control Panel Web Site Statistics IMAP, Pop3, SMTP, WebMail PHP, CGI, Perl, SSI, Front Page PhpMyAdmin Unlimited MYSQL Databases Unlimited Domain Add-Ons Unlimited Sub-domains Unlimited E-mails 24/7 FTP Access Custom Error Pages No Set-up Fees There are three other plans also. This is the lowest priced plann. You can check them out at: http://www.eniki.net/site/index.php?go=hosting. |

Personally, although I prefer CPanel, I find Ensim is not that bad

![]() I would recommend that unless you really know how to run, maintain and update a server of your own, you stick with managed ![]() Satan |
