simple mailing list
Hello,
I searched the forums and cant seem to find what i need. What I am looking for is a simple subscripbe / unsubscribe mailing list that can be run throught VB. I know ther eare plenty at hotscripts.com adn such pages but I would liek to keep everything run through VB. I need the mailing list so anyone can just enter a email and recieve updates. Simiolar to www.vbulletin.com If it is a major problem I will have to just install a regular mail list program but if it can be done Please let me know! Thanks  |

Well, now it's March 1st 2004, and I didn't see any response.
Not sure the best way of handling the same request. I'm looking for a simple e-mail list program for the same things? To allow users to "Talk" with e-mail as they would do with a a Yahoo List account.... only inside vB... I've seen Hivemail, Mailman and another one, but seem either too expensive or more than I'm looking for. Mailman seems to be the closest... Reply list: Since the last post on this was in Jul 2003,- 8 months ago, is this thread dead? and should I repost onto a new thread or could I expect a response... ps - this is about the 4th posting I've sent out and have yet to get a response from any of them. |

I check in periodically, looking for an ability to add mailing list functionality to my forums.
How can this be made available to an existing vB3 forum installation? I'm dying to know. |

Jon,
I ended up using the mailman lists and it works fine. You just have to Mass Subscribe the emails from the vb users copy/paste it into the mailman list area an select to "Offer to subscrbe" or just "subscribe automatically" and theyre in.. Here's the link, becareful there are too of them and it's got to be lower case.. http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman.html It's free and is a seperate program from vb, but it works so well you can't really tell the difference.. I'd recommend it... Hope that helps.. |

Hello!
I looked for the thread reffering mailman. We have been using mailman separately from VB. But we want to integrate the username and PW of both, and after the integration, we want to manage to make new ML according to the usergroup. Is it possible to make a hack for it? |

Atsuko,
I'm not sure anyone is really on/watching this thread. You might have better luck if you post it as a NEW thread over in the Developers Section??? I think anyway.. I haven't heard of any integration as of yet... so a hack is probably the only way for now... but look around.. Good luck... |

Still no integration of vB/mailinglists? Currently using Mailman, but it would be nice if members were added automatically so we don't have to cut/paste all the time...
