is it possible to hack a template in just one forum?

on my Xbox Vbulletin forum there is one forum dedicated to people that trade games.

i want to standardise the layout and info that people make posts, for example so when they click 'new thread' in the trader forum in the text box the following appears automatically for them

Game:
Original box/manual?:
disc condition:
manual condition:
case condition:
other comments:
for sale or trade?:

then the person initiating the game trade follows these prompts and enters the relevant information.

is that possible?

When I did something similar back when I was new to VB, I probably did it the hard way, but here's how I did it.

I created a new style set and then made that style only for that forum. It wasn't user selectable, but I overrode the users style for that forum with the custom style.

Then, I hacked the templates in that forum only. This also works if you need to add custom fields to posts, etc. because you can create a second newreply.php and have it process the code you want processed.

Like I say, there are probably better ways to do this, but my way is easy for a newbie.

i dont have alternate style sets for my forum, just the one. all i want to do is have something included in the 'new thread' template for just one forum.

you will need to do as mentioned above and download your style and then upload it as a new style and give it a different name than your default set....

then set the forum you want to be different to only use that style you just uploaded and then you can edit the one template you want different and it won't affect the rest of the site
