how do i create a bgmusic on off switch in the users edit options page, so if they click no then they dont hear the bgmusic but if they choose yes then they hear it

no one gonna offer any help with this?
ive been raking my brain for 5 days trying to do this and no one seems to be able to help. i suck at php/mysql so i would like someone to help me with this. please
