A "MUST HAVE" File DOWNLOAD PAGE
Back in the 80's I ran a BBS. The Software was Wildcat. It had a fantastic file management system built in... I've looked all around, and NONE of the PHP forum programs offer very good upload and download management.
Seems to me something that would allow FTP'ing of files would work alot better than squeezing them into a text database. A page of neatly arranged File names with descriptions would be so convienent! Anyone know of one somewhere??? There has to be a TON of Forums that would eat someting like this up! Any help would be appreciated! DM |

I must say I like the attachments system, it's quick and easy. I've just finished a downloads hack that's using attachments and keeping downloads up to date is much easier with attachments than using FTP to upload, if you ask me.
To answer your question, this hack by Erwin could be what you're looking for: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=44197 If you wish to use the attachments system, but don't want the attachments "squeezed into a text database" , this hack by PPN is another option: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=35193 I hope that helps. |
