User has editable list of "sayings" or "responses" that can be entered with repl

OK follow me here.. I figured I'd share this idea for someone else to write since it is a fairly big project that I don't have time to start.

Goal: Give registered users the ability to store phrases, sayings, or full responses that can be easily inserted into any message. They should have a page under the user CPanel that allows them to store new sayings.

Under CPanel Sayings edit page: Add / edit / remove Sayings

With the PM Reply, Newthread and Newreply message boxes:

If the user has stored sayings, show hotkeys or buttons that allow them to instantly insert these sayings into the message.

What use is this?

How many times do you have to give a canned response in Private messaging or in the forums. Like a user asks, "How do I donate to the site?" You could have hotkey #1 stored with the standard response.

"How do I get a custom avatar?" How many times do you see this if you have restrictions on it.. You could hit hotkey #2 and give them the response of "you will be able to after 30 posts" etc.

You could also store smilies or favorite quotes, etc. Any interest?

Great idea. If nobody else plays with it within the next week, I might. I am already behind schedule in another promised hack though.

Sorry to bring back such an old post, but I was looking for something exactly like this, but couldn't find it... has someone ever done this?
