I found several 'banner' hacks but i don't know which one is the favored one for ease of use and install.

Can anyone recommend one?

All of the above I guess. And if anyone of them makes it easy to actually "place" the banner on the forum thatd be appreciated (less hand coding i mean)

Well check out PPN's hack for this

He's a mod here and it's in his profile. I do believe that some people are having problems with it recently though.

I dunno why but I just prefer phpadsnew. I just add it into my forum templates. Makes life so much easier. Plus phpadsnew is one of the most popular adserver systems.

Because it doesn't track clicks, is not powered by msql
