What should I do?
Well, sometime last weekend, all the the data in all of my databases went *poof*! I have a fairly recent backup. The problem is, then only way I can get it restored is to give it to my host, but one of the servers went *crash*, so I dunno how long it'll be until I can get it restored. So..... *POLL*.
What do you think I should do? I have my site integrated into my board, and a pretty large amount of modifications to the database that I'd need to re-apply, I have a lot of modified/new templates (templates for my site, also), and many hacks installed. So, should I restart, wait, or try some new method of restoring my database? |

Well for the wait option, how long are you talking about? Will the amount of time be a burden upon you? After that, try and restore yourself if that's not a liable option, and if restoring yourself doesn't work, restart...

The first thing I tried was restoring it myself. When that didn't work, I went to my host.
Really, the only thing that burdens me is the extreme boredom of not being able to modify my vB or my site, and extreme annoyance with Invision boards (I installed one of those so I could just hide it while my vB is up). Really, it's not THAT big of a deal, but if I just restart from scratch, it'll at least give me something to do. My board wasn't that active anyways... |
