Restoring MySQL Backups...
Basically, a few days ago, all of the data in my MySQL database went *poof*! I am not even thinking about starting fresh, and I have a backup ready to be restored.
I have not SSH/Telenet access, so that is eliminated, and of course phpMyAdmin doesn't work. The only other option I can find in front of me is the backup/restore hack found in the Beta hacks forum. The only problem is, it didn't restore it properly. I know that backup is complete, I even checked it. Really, I can only find two options: split up the backup and restore it via phpMyAdmin or wait for my host to restore it for me. Seperating it would take a while, and it'd be hard for me to do, but waiting for my host is the equivelant of hitting my head against a brick wall. Right now I am forced to run off an IBF backup board. I only made it today and I already miss vB. Any other suggestions on how to restore the database from my backup? I have ran out of ideas.... |

Why is phpMyAdmin not working? Do you mean the script times out when you want to insert much data at once?
If that's the case, you have to take smaller portions of the data to insert at once, of course this will take much longer, but may be the last alternative. |
