User Access to forum Request

I'm wanting to limit where registered members go in my forums (we host several clan forums, and have had several flame wars break out between clans). What I'm after is a way for a new or existing user to reqeust access to a forum group, and have that group's moderator approve or deny access to the specific user.

Main reason I want to do it this way is we have around 600 or so users now, and 2 of the clans have over 2000 members with more signing up every day. I guess I could set up groups for every clan, but I'd have to change the users access for the ones we have now, and I don't know who all goes where .

hmm, if you can wait for vb3 you should wait and not hack this feature in, because vb3 will have such things included

Well...

You could use Lesane's "Moderator Application" hack, and just change it so that instead of for Moderators, it could be for Clans
