Which version am I running?

I just installed 2.2.9 using araxis merge, but my site ( http://www.gaters.net ) still says it's running 2.2.7.
The 2.2.7 that was in /admin/global.php has been changed to a 2.2.9 and yet the version issue remains
Is there any way to check which version I'm really running - such as seeing if a new feature introduced in 2.2.8 or 2.2.9 is there? Of particular concern to me is the XSS bug which has been exploited numerous times by hackers on my site - if anyone knows about the bug, could you please check if my site is still vulnerable to this?

Araxis Merge shouldn't really be used on your site. There's not much in the way of hacks that need to be reintegrated. Other than the front page, all I can see is Quick Reply (the templates will remain automatically after the update) and also PM Quick Reply. Heheh, sorry, couldn't resist.

Why not? I use it for every single upgrade I do to my site. The problem is that you haven't run the upgrade scripts which take care of updating the version number.

I think it's just unnecessary, for a simple site with few hacks, just upload the new files, run the upgrade scripts and edit back in the code for the one or two hacks... Something like Araxis Merge only becomes worthwhile when the alternative is lots and lots of hand coding.

I use Beyond Compare all the time, and Martyn, I think I'd rather take about 30 minutes out of my life to see that my board will run smoothly after the upgrade with all the hacks, and addons that my members like, than to upgrade everything, and then forget what addons I had, and then start running into errors because of the template has not been changed, and the users start getting worried etc...

There are heaps more hacks there than that, which I made myself and never bothered to document, they just aren't immediately obvious.

That's why I always do an upgrade on a local test server first.
