Request for "Favorite Threads" forum
I submitted this as a feature request over at vbulletin.com, but I think it would make a nice hack too:
Bioware has a feature for their forums which I think would make a great feature for vbulletin, a "My Topics" forum. Check it out at nwn.bioware.com. It is a great way to keep track of particular threads in a very busy forum. Here is how I would like to see it implemented: When a logged in user looks at the main index.php page, amoung the forums they see is a forum called "My Topics" or "My Threads". When they click on that forum, they get a list of threads that they have subscribed to, and it looks like any other forum. I know that this is kinda how the current thread subscription works, but I think bioware's implementation is more intuitive. It appears on the main index and it shows all subscribed threads, not just those that have new posts. I rarely look at my own user CP, and I doubt many of my users do. |

Hmmm, shouldn't be too hard ... just a matter of finding a way to place the code in the user cp for subscribed threads into the main forum page ... or maybe as simple as putting up a link to subscribed topics and tailoring that particular link to look like a forum
