Can anyone offer suggestions on how to have an excel spreadsheet display in the thread rather than show up as a downloadable attachment? (ie, in the same manner that you can display bmp and jpg)

I don't think I've seen this done before and could not find a hack that would handle this request.

Don't think it's possible. It would require a converter into HTML. The only other way is by using an iframe.

It's not going to happen with Excel, but there is BB Code to put a Google Spreadsheet in a post and you can import Excel files into Google Spreadsheets.
