I am looking for a hack that "connects" the HT ACCESS with the vB UserDB.
vbulletintemplates.com has something like that to restrict access to its download area. I already asked how Tony did it and he said: Quote:
![]() Anywhere I can grab this Hack? Or is there something else/new that allows to connect an HTACCESS to the vB Database ? |

Thanks NTLDR, did that found a bunch of links
On all of the ones I tried it said something about APACHE as server etc. Does this mean I cannot install a hack/patch to get it running a webhost that does not run apache?Anyone else got a hint how to get this working ? |

Ahh it seems I found it
![]() http://www.modwest.com/help/kb1-161.html I will try to check if that it works tomorrow... EDIT Tried it, but failed. I made an EXACT .HTACCESS just like it states above, but I get an ERROR 500 as a return when I try to enter the URL that I am testing it with ![]() Must my Host have this mod_auth_mysql installed or does every MYSQL have this "inside" ? How do I check if my Mysql that I am using with my host has it? Any help appreciated |

You need to check that your host has it. I'm guessing by the Error 500 that they don't.

Yeah I just checked - they do have Apache - I sent an email asking if the support the mod_auth_mysql - hopefully I really messed up and made a mistake somewhere and they can help me or if they do not have it they add this feature. It is ( IMHO ) VERY useful...
