Edited By Problem
Can someone please tell me where to start looking for a fix to the following problem? I just did a fresh install of vbulletin 2.2.9 and now for some reason, everytime I edit a message, I get the "Edited By Boofo" added to it even though I have it turned off in the Admin CP. I don't have any hacks installed that would even come near to messing with that. I am only installing the bare minimum for now on the waiting of v3.0.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

If you say you haven't done any coding that might affect the "edited by" function, then its quite hard to pin point what could be causing this :ermm:
Are all the dates and times on your forum correct? My only real guess is that maybe some date functions are becoming messed up and every time you edit a post it is actually thinking the time limit has gone up. Or maybe 2.2.9 has made a modification to how it works in the vBulletin admin-options page, you may want to check that as well. You say you have it turned off Boofo...although from what I recall (and it could be very vague) is that there was a time-interval value you could enter. Maybe make this value higher or something? Just some suggestions from a quite exhausted guy /me falls down on ground and sleeps  |

if the msgs already have the Edited by in it, it won't get away also if you turn it off in acp
perhaps it's just that.. |

Velocd, I thought about doing what you said and make the time interval longer but then that would affect everyone. |

The following was at the bottom of a message I just edited:
Last edited by Boofo on Dec 9, 2002 at 6:19 PM and I have the "edited by" turned OFF for Admins in the Admin CP. Can anyone please tell me where I should go to fix this problem? |

Stefan, could the code you gave me for the error message on not being able to view certain forums and threads have anything to do with my "Edited By" problem? It seems that the only place it is happening now is in the areas that I have that code for. the rest of the areas on the site do not display the edited By message when I edit anything. Is there a way to find a work-a-round for this?

hmm, i don't think so, normally those codes shouldn't affect each other...
i don't remember exactly what code i gave you (link pleas ), i post so much codes but if it has nothing to do with editpost.php then it cannot be normally... have you done more hacking for this sepcial threads/forums |

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=46332 but that code is in the newreply.php and newthread.php. That won't have any effect on this, or can it? What else can it be? I've never had this problem before. It has me stumped. |

hmm, have you hacked editpost.php in some way?
it must be there... or have you installed my prevent doublepost hack, that also sets the edited by- value (but normally also just if it's enabled) i don't think it's that, but .... |

Is there another query to run that might tell us anything? |
