Is there a way to do this so that the link has it's own usercp category? If that makes any sense?
That tutorial just shows how to add a link using basic html. I am aware how to do that, but this way of doing it does not allow the "avatar" link to light up, but instead a different area does. Am I making any sense? I want to be able to add a new cpnav area. |

Yes, it's possible. However, it takes a bit of effort editing all the PHP files that parses the usercpnav template.
The simplest method is to add another link to usercpnav, and make it the same bg color as the options one - I think id 3. Then when options light up, avatar will light up. Otherwise, you need to add another usercpnav bg id to all files using usercpnav. |

I hope in vB3 it will be easier to modify that bar at the top of the userCP, as the code takes a while to modify and it's boring lol.

Exactly. Last count I had 14 links in usercp - I had to edit probably 20 php files since a lot of them involve hacks which uses usercp as well - eg. vBNotepad, Bookmarks, Favorites etc. plus some custom hacks...

Hmmm, I figured out how to set it to 3 already, and it works ok. Sorry to hear it's so complicated. Oh well. At least this is easier than having to hunt for the avatar area.
