Many of my users, while I had a UBB, wandered if they could get special permissions which would allow them two things, and/or:

-they would be able to moderate (edit, delete post, move thread) their own threads but not any of the other ones. (people seem to want this capability)

-when posting a new topic certain group of users might get a setting: allow only Super Members to respond

So it is kind of like creating an elite topic which in 2.0 VB I hear might be a subforum...

Thanks

You can already assign these permissions so that your users can take advantage of them.

This could exclude potential new users who are masters of the field the question is in. Could be done though.

You can give users permissions to edit/delete posts on the thread they started without allowing them to moderate the rest of the board?

Please tell me how...

i think you can only delete your own thread of delete your own post (or edit it) and not others in the thread. I am sure it would be possible but not the easiest thing to do.

You can actually allow members to close their own threads. It is in the control panel under User Groups and Permissions.
