You can empty it, but then searches will not work on your forums.

well whenever i want to download my DB i empty the searchindex before , less time needet
that's the point *gg* also as you can read in the ACP: reindex searchindex: rarely needed, so why don't do it the complicated way by emptying the table via phpmyadmin first |

On the upgrade counters page, at the bottom I think, there is a hyperlink to delete the search index and a forum button to re-index
|

is it safe to reindex while the forum open!! , I don't want to close the forum for 24 hours
and kindly what is the query to see the most used words in your searchindex. Thanks |

Arunan: Yes you can, but normally there's no need to do it...
@Remi: normally you can do it on a running board, because it looks if a word already exists.... |
