what shall i do to upgrade it to 2.2.8 ??

go to www.vbulletin.com/members/

then upgrade to 2.2.1, from there run the upgrade scripts one at a time to 2.2.8

and considering your board is hacked, it'd be easier to revert all the files/templates first, then reapply your hacks.
