Help Tips Display based on Registered user number of visits

I have searched the forums and can't find anything like this nor can I find anywhere that number of visits PER registered member is already recorded.

The concept is this:

For my setup, all must register to read, post, whatever. There is no guest access.

I want to be able to display help tips based on the number of visits that a person has made to my board. The example I have given below, displays the tip in the header ... but theoretically, it should be able to display anywhere.

For example:

User FRED has registered. Until he has visited the board 10 times, I want to display a tip message in the header such as:

(<If number of visits is less than 10 display TIP>


TIP! Place your cursor over the button for more information on that option.

On FRED's 11th visit and thereafter, the above tip would not display.

Any ideas??

PS: I was trying to avoid the use of number-of-posts as the factor due to many users NEVER posting.

I see the point but the problem is vb does not save how many times a user visited the board so it would take a lot of time to develop such a system to track the visit counts first.

If you consider giving your tips according to post count, registered day or any other default value vb keeps track of, it can be easier to develop the hack..

I am not trying to re-invent the wheel ... nor am I unreasonable. Registered day might be an alternative ... 10 days or 15 days after registered day, help tips stop.
