i have a serious issue right now with my vbulletin board. i had the board on the same domain as my site but due to the popularity of both i decided to move the board to it's own domain for bandwidth purposes.

i installed the vbulletin software in the new domain, on the new server, and used telnet to dump and import the old db into the new one so i wouldn't lose any threads and my members wouldn't have to sign up again.

herein lies the problem. i believe vbulletin is still accessing my old db. i am still using massive amounts of bandwidth on my old domain and absolutely NONE on the new domain where the board is. it is still connecting and running off the old domain.

is there a certain file(s) or template that i need to fix to point to the new db and new domain. my board is fairly popular and uses resources like a +++++. i need it to live on it's own as soon as possible.

has anyone ever encountered this with a move? does anyone know how i can resolve this issue? i have a support ticket in to vbulletin, but would like to extend an offer for help here as well.

thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

if anyone would like to contact me via AIM my username is theangryfinger.

thanks.

what about the db_mysql.php file? alot of the stuff on there is blank.

for example. this is what it looks like when it references my db.

<?php
error_reporting(7);
// db class for mysql
// this class is used in all scripts
// do NOT fiddle unless you know what you are doing

class DB_Sql_vb {
var $database = "";

var $link_id = 0;
var $query_id = 0;
var $record = array();

var $errdesc = "";
var $errno = 0;
var $reporterror = 1;

the db_mysql.php has not to be changed after moving to a new server.

you haven't to change this file at all

i haven't changed it, but i just found it odd that everywhere in that file where it mentions $database = " " there's no mention of my actual db name in that file at all.
