Limiting usernames to email valid chars (a-z, 0-9, _ and -)
Hey peeps, I have decided that the simplest way I'm going to intergrate users between my website and my vB forums is by sharing vB's 'user' table.
There is one little problem I have to overcome: I plan to offer webmail access to users in the future, but in order for this to work their usernames need to comply (ie. see topic). I'm guessing vB's signup script verifies so that the username abides by some rules, but where's the code located and how can i change it to suit my needs. I'm a bit of a newcomer to PHP and coding (apart from HTML) but I'm a good follower of instructions. Please help as it might persuade me to start developing the site if this was possible Thanx in advance, --Sion |
