Since my board is realtively closed to people in my community (where I live), I was thinking about giving out passwords to people for registering.
Has anyone ever done this before? I was thinking of asking for a password on the first screen after you click register. Not sure on where to store the password, but that doesn't really matter to me at this point. Thanks, Josh |

You can stick this in register.php, right after:
Code:
require("./global.php");
Code:
if ($PHP_AUTH_USER != '[high]usernameHere[/high]' or $PHP_AUTH_PW != '[high]passwordHere[/high]') {
header('WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="vBulletin Protected Area"');
header('HTTP/1.0 401 Unauthorized');
show_nopermission();
exit;
}
