Would anyone be willing to update hacks?
There are many great hacks posted on vBulletin.org that I would like to use on my forum. However, most of the ones that I like are incompatible with any recent version of vB. I have bumped a lot of them in effort to get the hack author, or even an interested user who knows PHP to update the hacks. I have e-mailed some of them as well. Most are very slow to respond. So I have decided to offer a paid job for someone who would be willing to update/modify around 10 hacks to make them compatible with vB 2.2.6 Would anyone be willing to do this? If anyone is interested, send me a PM, and we will discuss this.
It would be even better if people would update thier own hacks. Of course that would be Utopia.

most of the hacks are compatible with 2.2.6 if they are written in 2.2.x, so youi shouldn't have problems to implement it yourself...
if the hack is written for 2.0.x perhaps there are problems but most can be implementet too with very small changes but if anyone writes an upgrade on someone elses hack you get a problem with this statement here down at vb.org: All hacks are copyright their respective owners.

I have found that most of the hacks that have been written since January are not compatible with the latest release. I am willing to pay someone to update these hacks, so it should not matter if "most" are compatible, if the ones that I want to use are not. Please do not reply to this thread if you do not wish to contribute a positive message to this thread.

Most of the hacks ARE compatible... And if the first file posted isnt, look through the thread - No hack stays the same throughout a thread...People will post additions and updates every so often, that the author may not want to add to the hack... Satan

Why do you insist on being negative when I have asked you not to do so? I have already explored all the options I can think of, including the ones you have mentioned, and some ones that you have not. I have tried everything short of paying someone to update them. I am now exploring that option as well, as I don't have the time to learn PHP myself. Please don't discourage other's from helping me. It is none of your buisiness if they wish to do so. I already stated I am willing to pay a reasonable price to the person who is willing to update a few hacks. Please do not respond to this thread unless you are.

Joshua could you give some examples of which hacks don't seem to work, because I have the latest version of 2.2.6 with many hacks installed, so I might be able to help you. Also, how much are you willing to pay, not that I really have the time (nor true knowledge) of restoring these hacks, but only curious... Regards, Velocd

I was simply stating that hacks are either updated by the creator, or other people update them during threads, and I suggested that he takes a look throught the threads... Satan
