Well i'm mostly asking people with anime forums and sites, my site ANIME XPLOSION is pretty new and i am wondering, how do u get your hits, i've got all 151 current members of my forums, by advertising on other boards, thru buddies on AIM and other IM devices and thru others, but i look at other forums, like animeboards.com and they have an inhuman amount of members, so how and where do u get yours, i have added my site to topsites, got an affiliate, but still looking for more, and i advertise on loads of other forums, but still i only get around 150 hits per day

Well I'd be happy with that many members and unique hits per day

I too would like to know the secret!

After taking a better look at your board, perhaps you should allow people who arn't registered to view posts? In all the forums I tried to view a post in I got the no-permission error.

Any forum that forces me to register to view the board, forums, or posts I simply just leave.

before i added it on, i looked around at my forums and found that guests were just viewing threds and leaving without registering, so i put this on, and added the statistics thingy at the bottom, so guests could see popular threds and things like that, with the stuff that goes on in my forums, ppl just had to join to see what the hell was going on in here, so this sorta helps me get my members

I also get quite a few guests looking but not registering, but I don't want lots of people registering only never to post or be active, that just creates more work for me.

- PR / Advertising:
+ Ability to get 1-5 people to join a day
+ Ability to get 25-60 unique hits per day
+ Ability to submit site to top sites and search engines.
+ etc...



With about 3 of these you can get a good user flow.

3-15 new members per day

Be thankful its slower...

You know how much it costs to have a larger vBulletin site?!

I started mine Sept 30th 2002 and have "Members: 1,875, Threads: 4,443, Posts: 37,417"

I have moved from one hosting company, to a dedicated server, outgrew that and now Im upgrading to another dedicated server this week. Not cheap but cool for sales and bragging rights!

Search engine positioning. I am ranked both 1 and 2 in Google for my keywords, and 1 in all other search engines, including 1 in Yahoo, 1 in Looksmart, 1 in MSN, 1 in AOL...

I used to be a mod of a Search Engine forum, so I know the tricks...

Me too, I'm first on Google. I finally got Mr. Googlebot to crawl my most recent threads, too. It gives me most of my hits, but I'm starting to get a lot from vBT, too.

On registration one of the required fields is Where Did You Hear About WDF. It's very useful
