Mini-hacks?
A suggestion: Sometimes when someone requests a hack, someone else will reply with the code that needs to be modified. These are obviously things that are fairly easy to do if you know how, but. of course, many people don't know how. Checking for such mini-hacks by searching is very time-consuming and often unproductive. How about moving such threads to a new forum that could serve as a repository of how tos for things not elevated to the status of a "hack"? It certainly would make it easier for people to find such solutions and might reduce repeated requests.
I would suggest that only admins or mods be allowed to create new threads in the forum, but allow others to reply. I'm not suggesting that someone go through the existing threads and move them, but that the admins and mods do it with new threads as they come up. Over time, that should build a nice collection. |

*smallbump*
what happened about that suggestion? is it planned at least when vb3 comes out, so mods have not to search throgh the requestforum or do you plan to make it never? or do you want to surprise us, and get it online in a few days *ggg* if you want to make such a subforum, and need help, just say a word, i think there are many users, which would like to help |

I think this is a great idea because I myself have suffered from searching through herds of posts to find something.
