date and time of firstpost, not lastpost

in forumdisplay.php you have this code:

PHP Code:

$thread[lastreplydate]=vbdate($dateformat,$thread[lastpost]);

to get the last date. if i want to get the date from first post, what is the best aproach? can i use the field dateline?
