Default Banning new registration (advanced option)

Greetings,

We have been thinking to do this for a while. We want to have an option in the CP to ban new registerations from a certain country for 6 days a week and make it open for ONE day only. However, registerants from countries other than the banned one should be able to register anytime anyday 24/7.

The reason we want to do this is because when we open registeration the board will start flooding with people from that particular country posting nonsense threads. So, we need to control this and have QUALITY not quantity. I know this can be edited manually, but if there is an automated option to even prevent it form happening it will save us a lot of time and hassle.

Me and my partner are ready to pay any necessary cost for this custom request.

Thank you
Moh~

heretic, most of them have the same IP address, the last part sometimes differ like this
xxx.xxx.xx.12
xxx.xxx.xx.13
There is only one major ISP in that country and they control all other private ISP's, so these are their IP numbers actually.

Currently there is no automated thing, but you can control it via .htaccess if you are running on apache. Just place an .htaccess file in yur main directory to "ban" that range of ip addresses from accessing, or directing that ip block to an "unregistered" group that can only "read only" the board and not register. The last part can be probably asked for as a hack.

IF you're on another type of server, I dont know how you can limit access.
